For coaches and the people they train
Every session tracked.
No more paper.
JoaoGym records every set, rep and kilo as you train, then turns it into reports that show your progress over time.
What the paper sheet can't do
The printed sheet
- Filled in after the session, from memory
- One box per exercise, however many sets were done
- Lost, or left in a drawer
- Nothing for the client to take home
JoaoGym
- Logged as each set happens, in one tap
- Every set, with its load and reps
- Always there, on any of the gym's iPads
- A summary after each session and a chart of progress
How it works
Plan it, train it, see it
-
Plan
The coach builds the program ahead of time: training days, exercises, sets, reps and starting loads. On a laptop, a phone or the iPad.
-
Train
On the gym floor the iPad shows one exercise at a time. Each set is one tap, with the last session's numbers alongside.
-
See
The session ends with a summary and a difficulty score from the client. Progress builds up session by session.
For coaches
Coach the session, not the clipboard
- Log each set with one tap, as it happens
- No sheets to print, carry around or lose
- Every client's program and history on the iPad
- Build programs ahead of time on any device
- Leave a call for next time: increase, hold or reduce
For clients
See the work you've put in
- Every set, rep and kilo recorded accurately
- A report after each session
- Your progress over weeks and months
- More of your coach's attention during the session
- Nothing to install, and no account to create
Features
Built for the gym floor
Logging a set has to be quicker than writing it down, or nobody keeps it up.
-
One tap per set
The next set is filled in from the one before. Tap Done and move on.
-
Rest timer
Counts down the planned rest by itself. Silent, and never in the way.
-
Swap, skip or add
Machine taken? Do something else today without changing the program.
-
Program builder
Training days, supersets, sets, reps and loads, saved as you go.
-
Progress charts
A chart for every exercise, with personal bests marked as they happen.
-
Summaries by email
After each session, once a week, or both. Only if the client asks for them.
-
Notes for next time
A call per exercise and what to watch, ready for whichever coach has the next session.
-
iPad, phone or laptop
Nothing to install. Shared gym iPads open with each coach's own PIN.
Progress
Proof that the work is working
Each session's best set is charted for every exercise, so a client can see weeks of training in one line. Personal bests are picked out at the end of the session.
- The change since last time, exercise by exercise
- Shown on the iPad only if the client agrees to it
- The client's own pages to look back on at home
Personal best 65 kg × 6, up 2.5 kg since last time
Your session summary is ready
The email carries a link and nothing else. The summary opens on the client's own pages.
Privacy
Careful with what it knows
A gym floor is a room full of people, and training records are personal. JoaoGym is built around both.
-
A nickname, not a name
Clients are known by a nickname. An email address is optional and kept apart from the training records.
-
Injury notes only with consent
The client decides, on the iPad, and can change their mind. Everything else works the same without it.
-
Emails carry a link, never the detail
No training or health information sits in anyone's inbox.
-
No cameras, no fingerprints
No face or fingerprint login and no video. Coaches sign in with a PIN.
-
Hosted in the EU
On servers in Finland, with the sensitive notes encrypted.
-
No adverts, no tracking
Only the cookies needed to sign in. Nothing is sold or passed on for marketing.
Questions
Do clients need an app or an account?
No. A client trains as normal and sees their summary on the iPad at the end. If they want summaries by email they give an address on the iPad and confirm it once. The emails link to their own pages, with no password.
What does a coach need?
On the gym floor, one of the gym's iPads and a four-digit PIN. For building programs, any phone, tablet or laptop, with an email address and password.
What if a client doesn't want injury notes kept?
They say no when asked on the iPad. No injury notes are kept, and sessions, summaries and progress all work the same.
Can a different coach take the session?
Yes. Any coach at the gym can open any client, see the program, the last session and the notes left for next time. Who opened what is recorded.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Not yet. The iPad needs a connection. A set that fails to save stays on screen, marked, with a retry.
Can old paper sheets be brought across?
No. A client starts from their current program, and history builds from the first session.
